What Does This MRI Report Of The Hip With Contrast Indicate?

I had an MRI of my right hip with contrast, my MRI results state the superior labrum is somewhat small and blunted in appearance. The appearance is most consistent with a developmental hypoplasia. Where it gives the impression on the report it states the superior labrum is somewhat hypoplastic in appearance with no labral tear. What does this mean? Also I have Ehlors Danlos Syndrome a rare connective tissue disorder.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is a rare connective tissue disorder and probably you have a congenitally abnormal hip joint.

CRP, ESR, anti-CCP antibody and anti-nuclear antibody are a few tests which will be helpful.

MRI is most rewarding in diagnosing such cases as surgery, insertion of the prosthesis, physiotherapy, rehabilitation therapy can be of help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
