What Does This MRI Report Of Brain Mean?

What does Moderate diffuse cerebral volume loss mean? Sounds like something I do not want. I am going to try to paste MRI report here. MRI brain without and with contrast History: Vertigo, dizziness Comparison: None available Technique: Multiplanar multisequence MRI of the brain were obtained without contrast. Findings: Diffusion-weighted sequence demonstrates no evidence for acute infarct, or focal abnormalities. There is no mass, midline shift, or abnormal extra-axial fluid collections. There is no evidence to suggest intracranial hemorrhage. Signal within the cortex, and white matter are unremarkable. Brainstem, and cerebellum are unremarkable. Size and configuration of the ventricles are normal. Moderate diffuse cerebral volume loss. Major intracranial flow voids are preserved. Globes, orbits, optic nerve sheath complex, optic chiasm, pituitary, cavernous sinus and Meckel s cave appear normal. Marrow signal and extracranial soft tissue are unremarkable. Paranasal sinuses are unremarkable. Mastoid air cells, and middle ear appear unremarkable. Craniocervical junction appear normal without evidence for Chiari malformation. The visualized cervical spine is normal. IMPRESSION: 1. No acute infarct, intracranial hemorrhage, mass lesion or hydrocephalus. 2. Moderate diffuse cerebral volume loss.

You have not mentioned your age here in the question. Because cerebral volume loss is a physiological process which is age related. Above 60-65 yrs of age, brain slowly starts to shrink in size and its totally normal for the age. So if you are above the age group i specified nothing to worry about. It would be helpful if you could let me know your age.
