What Does This MRI Report Of Abdomen Indicate?

Hi, I had an MRI of the abdomen with and without contrast done on Nov 26,2014 which showed an enhancing 4.0 cm x 4.0 cm mass at the lower pole of the left kidney; partially based in the cortex and partially exophytic. It extends superiorly to involve the collecting system. No perirenal lymphadenopathy identified. What could it be?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The mass may be benign or cancerous but further tests such as biopsy , would be needed to determine its exact nature.

The fact that there is no perirenal lymphadenopathy means that there is no spread of the mass to the lymph nodes which is good.

I hope this helps
