What Does This MRI Report Indicate?

Had an MRI : Question L3 shows chronic discogenic change of the upper endplates. L3-4 disc bulge extending dorsal by 4mm and there is a left paracentral as we as a foramen disc herniation lateral disc material impinging on nerve root. L4-5 disc bulge extending dorsal 3mm and a right central herniation which projects 5 mm posterieror to the disc space. Does this mean surgery or can I get by with injections

As per your history is concerned the MRI scan says you have herniated disc so what is your present deficit now?you need through physical exam to look for any deficits present or not.You need conservative approach first if not successful SurgicalTreatment needed.out of 100 cases only 10% needed SurgicalTreatment treatment .So nothing to be worried at all as now repairing can be done in minimal invasive procedures. Thanks
