What Does This MRI Report Indicate?

Hello Doctor, Am Sathish from chennai. Recently I got severe lower back pain and it continues to pain even now. Upon taking an MRI, the report suggests the following. 1. Degenerative Disc Disease at L4/5, L5/S1 levels, where posterior, central herniation of disc causes canal, lateral recess narrowing and indentation on both exiting nerve roots. 2. There is 41 x 24 mm size cyst in sacral spinal nerve. We consulted ortho doctors, they suggested to undergo physiotheraphy for now and not to worry about the cyst. Am worried what if the pain causes because of cyst. Please help me.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear Greetings
Regarding your experience with lower back pain following an MRI report that showed bulge disc at L4 -S1 with central herniation and narrowing of the lateral nerve roots as well as a cyst at sacral nerve root I will suggest you have developed a spinal cord compression syndrome due to degenerative disease and a tumor

In view of this please schedule an appointment with a neurosurgeon for further clinical assessment and possible surgical interventional procedures

Meanwhile please continue with your physiotherapy along with the following drugs Tablet cerebrex neurobion cymbalta gabapentin

I hope this helps Regards
