What Does This CT Scan Result For Severe Ear Pain Indicate?
I have severe ear pain, and I went to see an specialist, he did a ct scan and results show I dont have anything in my ear. He noted a parotid mass, but the doctor said to go to see another doctor for maxillofacial, do you agree with this? or what else should I do. thanks!
As per your complain pain in ear can be due to disorders related to Parotid gland due to close proximity of the gland with the ear..
A parotid mass can be a non cancerous or cancerous tumour and it has to be taken into immediate consideration and you should consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and a Biopsy or FNAC of the tumor to rule out the nature of the tumour so that treatment can be planned accordingly.. In case of a non-cancerous mass removal of the mass can help..
In case if it is cancerous chemotherapy, radiotherapy or surgical removal of the mass or the entire gland itself can help..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
