What Does This CT Scan Report Mean?

I previously had Hydrocephalus. I had had a tarlov cysts removed from my lumbar spine..I have this on every one of my organs..I have been experiencing very bad headaches that have gotten so bad I had to go to the hospital on Sunday, the 10th of May, 2015..They did a CT scan and there were things I did not understand..They said I did not have Hydrocephalus, but I had Prominent frontal sulci CSF along both frontal lobes which was similar to prior exams. Mild compensatory dilation of the ventricular system is present. Small cava septum pellucidum is present.. When I look this up, it shows hydrocephalus...Can you tell me what all of this means... Thank You, Terry

Hi,

The CT scan report suggests that there is mild dilation of the ventricular system (the system of fluid-filled spaces within the brain) and prominent CSF (cerebrospinal fluid) in the frontal sulci (grooves in the surface of the brain) along both frontal lobes. This means that there is a slight enlargement of the fluid-filled spaces in the brain and a buildup of fluid in the grooves on the surface of the brain. Additionally, there is a small cava septum pellucidum, which is a normal variation in the structure of the brain.

These findings are similar to previous exams, which suggests that they have been present for some time. The report also states that there is no evidence of hydrocephalus, which is a condition where there is an abnormal accumulation of CSF in the brain.

It is important to discuss these findings with your doctor, as they may have a better understanding of your medical history and can provide more specific information about what this means for your health.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
