What Does This CT Scan Report Indicate?

my mother 85 yrs .. ct chest says:
few tiny nodules in right upper lobe , left lower lobe.
minimal fibrosis in rt middle lobe & left lingula
few small lymphnodrs in prevascular , aorto pulmonary window, rt para tracheal and subcarnial regions.
--likelyt inflammatory

suggested follow up to rule out mitotic etiology

I can understand your concern.
I have gone through the CT report you have mentioned.
Her CT report is more suggestive of infection and inflammation.
But nodules and lymphnodes in old age (84 years) should also evaluated for cancer.
So for her follow up CT scan of thorax after 6 months is required to see the size of nodules and lymphnodes. If size is stable order regressing, no need to worry for cancer.
But if size is increasing then she should definitely investigated for lung cancer.
