What Does This CT Scan Report Indicate?

Sir, since last four years I am suffering from nose blockage and consulting an ENT DR and as long as he is writing the medicine and so long as I swallowed them, until then, its okay. But once I stopped again the problem is starting. CT SCAN RESULTS ARE: 1) Deviation of nasal septum towards right side with bony spur.2) bilateral acute on chronic OMU and sphenoethmoidal pattern of sinusitis with small mucosal polyp in the posterior portion of bilateral nasal cavities. 3) mucosal prominence of left middle and inferior nasal turbinate. Doctor sir, plz advise me the serious ness on the disease based on the CT SCAN RESULTS.

Thanks for asking at HCM.
I have read your question and I understand your concern.
Based on the history and this CT scan report suggests that you have been suffering from chronic sinusitis secondary to Deviated nasal septum (called DNS) with bilateral ethmoidal polyps. DNS is not something to worry about, a small surgery usually 30 minutes long called SMR (submucosal recession) is done to straighten the Nasal septum. And bilateral ethmoidal polyps are usually secondary to allergy which results in symptoms like nasal obstruction on both sides, loss of smell sensation, watery discharge from nose, vacuum headache, watering of eyes and sneezing. Treatment for bilateral ethmoidal polyps is antihistamines( tab. Rigix ! tab at night) with low dose steroid and a steroid spray, and they can be removed surgically with a simple procedure called Functional Endoscopic sinus Surgery. So there is no need to get worried, I think you need to consult a good ENT surgeon, rest he will manage it.
I hope that this will be of some help, if you find it insufficient or you have any query, feel free to ask.
thanks
