What Does Thick Hypoechoic Endometrium In A Woman Signify?
I got an ultrasound yesterday and got a result of thick endometrium hyperechoic with thickness of 1.3 cm. I just got a miscarriage last January 6 from a 12wk 3 days according to my OB-Gyne.. What does this mean. Do I need to undergo D & C or can i just take medication?

Hi there... Kindly do tell me if its hypoechoic or hyperechoic as the management modality changes the pattern seen.If its hyper echoic as your text body states, there are many reasons for thickening of endometrium. endometritis or inflammation of endometrium is a common cause. depending on the cause for thickness, based on biopsy of endometrium... your gynaecologist might suggest a D & C or medication. So get the biopsy done, to know the cause and then let the cause be treated accordingly. take care
