What Does The Following Vaginal Sonogram Report Indicate?

I m 52, in menopause, had slight spotting and had vaginal sonogram today. My uterus measured thick at 17. My pap in July was normal and my phyisical exam the dr said everything felt normal size. Dr did biopsy. Dr said no mass showed on the ultrasound. Without heavy bleeding, is this likely cancer?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
Your endometrium thickness id 17.
It is very high according to menopause.
In a postmenopausal woman with vaginal bleeding/spotting,
the risk of cancer is approximately 7.3% if her endometrium is thick (> 5 mm) and

So it could be due to endometrial dysplasia or cancer, hormonal imbalance.
I would suggest to go for reproductive hormone analysis.
And biopsy is already taken.
It will help to rule out the cancer/dysplasia.
So there is 7-10 % risk of cancer.
All will depend on the biopsy report.
Avoid stress, take healthy diet with green leafy vegetables and fresh fruits, drink plenty of water, do regular exercise, maintain proper pelvic hygiene.
Hope this may help you
