Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I just had my repeat urinalysis done yesterday after 1 week of medication for UTI. My previous test shows that the pus cells in my urine is over 50/hpf, squamous:many and bacteria:many. My current result shows pus cells: 18 -20 hpf, squamous:few and bacteria:few. Does this mean that my UTI had been cured?
I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your urinary tract infection.
This result suggests that your infection is improving, because more than 4/hpf is means positive for any urinary tract infections.
You need to continue the medication and also take more fluids than normal. As your infection is improving you need not to worry only continue your medication.
Hope my answer will help you and visit us back if you have any further questions to ask.
Regards Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
