What Does The Following Ultrasound Scan During 35 Weeks Of Gestation Indicate?

Hi. I am pregnant and did an ultrasound scan last week. Results were as follows: BPD: 88mm - 35 weeks 4 days Head Circ: 316 mm - 35 weeks 3 days Femur length: 72 mm - 36 weeks 6 days; and abdo Cir: 329 mm - 36 weeks 6 days. The difference in gestational age between head circumference and Femur length is worrying me. Can you please clarify matters for me?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Everything seems ok with your baby. As for head circumference, its a biometric parameter to check fetal growth.

It has nothing to do with brain development. So, don't worry. Everything is going to be alright.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
