Lever enlarge & measures 179 mm parenchyma is coarse & echorich there is no ecorich or echopoor mass, no mass at ports , There is no biliary dilatation. 1.Cirrhosis lievr 2.Splenomegaly 3.Portal Hypertention 4.Marked ascites Please suggest what we should do
The following things can be interpreted based on the ultrasound report you have furnished.
1. Liver is enlarged and is showing fibrotic changes. That is what has been stated as cirrhosis of liver.
2. There are no mass present and there is no dilatation of tubes which transport bile.
3. Spleen is enlarged. That is what has been stated as splenomegaly.
4. Portal veins are showing hypertensive changes. That is what has been stated as portal hypertension.
5. There is collection of fluid in the abdominal cavity. That is what has been stated as marked ascites. Looking at the findings, it appears that these changes have happened due to chronic alcoholism.
