What does this mean?? Hi my daughter of 3 yrs in her stool test Colour -yellowish Consistency -semi solid Mucus-absent Blood-absent Reaction -acidic Reducing suger-present Epithelial cells -nil Pus cell -nil RBCs- occasional Ova-absent Fat gloubules- present Veg. Cells-absent Cyst- absent

I would assume that the stool routine examination done to evaluate diarrhea in your kid.This test usually done as routine investigation in diarrheal cases. Let us explain the parameters, The stool sample does not contain blood or pus cells,so we can rule out conditions like bacterial dysentery. There is no ova or cyst in the given sample,so it is obvious that parasitic infestation and amoebic dysentery are ruled out.The consistency and color also looks normal.
