What Does The Following Semen Analysis Report Indicate?
Hello Doctor, My semen analysis results : Quantity 2.0 ml Iiquifaction normal Sperm count 12 million/ml Motility 30% Upon ejaculation 30(20 active &10 sluggish) After 3 hours 20(10 active &10 sluggish) Abnormal forms 10% Leukocytes 1-2/ hpf Pls advice me on this. Is it fine?
Reference limits (WHO) for semen parameters:
semen volume, 1.5 mL (2ml -5 ml-normal); total sperm number, 39 million per ejaculate; sperm concentration, 15 million/mL; vitality, 58% live; progressivemotility, 32%; total (progressive + nonprogressive) motility, 40%; morphologically normal forms, 4.0%.
Your sperm count is low. However, some men with low sperm counts are nevertheless fertile. Motility is less than normal. Up to 10% abnormal forms are normal. Leucocyte 1-2/hpf is also normal.
Your semen analysis is of borderline abnormality regarding sperm concentration and motility.
Tab Carnival- M may be useful for oligoasthenospermia.
