What Does The Following Liver Function Test Report Indicate?

Hi Dr, My wife has 30 week pregnancy but We found SGOT and SGPT are high in Liver function test. BIOCHEMISTRY TEST NAME RESULT UNIT NORMAL RANGE SGOT (AST) 239 IU/L 4 -37 SGPT (ALT) 360 IU/L 5 -40 BILRUBIN TOAL 0.5 mg/dl 0.2 -1.0 BILRUBIN DIRECT 0.3 mg/dl 0. -0.3 BILRUBIN DIRECT 0.2 mg/dl 0.1 -0.8 SGOT (AST) 239 IU/L 4 -37 SGPT (ALT) 360 IU/L 5 -40 ALKALINE PHOSPHATSE 136 IU/L 35 -150 TOAL PROTEIN 6.9 gm/dl 6.0 -7.8 SERUM ALBUMIN 3.6 gm/dl 3.5 -.0 GLOBULIN 3. gm/dl 2.3 -.5 A/G RATIO 1. 1.2 -.0 BLOD UREA 18 mg/dl 15 -45 SERUM CREATINE 0.78 mg/dl 0.5 -1.2 Please suggest me any major issue. My doctor prescribe my wife udiliv 3 43 and let me know is it safe in pregnancy.

Hello

Your wife report shows deranged liver enzymes(increased SGPT and SGOT). It may be due to cholestasis of pregnancy.

Altered LFT(Liver function test) may lead to premature labor,fetal distress,still birth and sudden intrauterine death.

Definitive treatment of this condition is delivery.

Udiliv is prescribed as symptomatic treatment.It helps in regeneration of liver cells.Udiliv is a safe drug to take during pregnancy.

So,she need regular monitoring of LFT and fetal well being.

Other findings are within normal limit.
