Hi,

Can you mention what are your symptoms and why an x-ray was ordered? Any chronic fever/cough/weight loss?

The report just says there is a linear opacity in lower part of left lung. This may suggest fibrosis from a healed previous infection or an area of atelectasis(collapse of lung tissue with loss of normal air inside).

To comment on any significance of this finding, the possible cause, prevention and treatment, we need clinical details. Your doctor will discuss in detail.

If you do not have active symptoms like cough/fever, this is not contagious.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK
