She also needs to measure her blood pressure and perform a cardiac Ultrasound, to find the cause of the cardiomegaly and treat it properly, to prevent the heart failure worsening. Also she needs to do glucose, cholesterol and triglycerides blood analysis, to treat any of these if there are increased, because high blood fats are a major cause of atherosclerosis. Interstitial pneumonia is a lung disease that affects a part called interstitium , it may be caused from infective or other inhaled agents. It may be acute or chronic. The treatment depends on the cause(antibiotics and corticosteroids can be used), and the severity of the disease so your mother should also consult a pneumologist, perform lung-CT scan or other examinations to find the cause of the interstitial pneumonia.
