What Does The Following X-ray Report Suggest?

Hello Doctors, Greetings, I am female, 34 years old, and single. I have series of x-rays for 1 year quarterly. On the PA view the result said suspicious density on the right upper lobe . Recently when the 2 APLV x-rays compared it said Consider Koch s Fibroid, upper right lobe . What does it mean? Thank you!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic.
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.

As per your X-ray report, you are having a suspicious lesion over the apex(top) of your right lung. These are generally a fibrotic(scarred) lesion suggestive of old and healed infection like tuberculosis or fungal infection. You don't need to worry regarding this as it is a harmless lesion and does not cause any problems.
Koch fibroid is nothing but an old tuberculosis lesion.
These are not an active disease process and no treatment is required in most of the cases.
Do a sputum examination to rule out active disease.
I suggest you to take a repeat X-ray to look for any progression in the size of the lesion. Consult a pulmonologist in case of increase in size or any development of symptoms like cough or breathlessness.

Wishing you good health.
Regards.
Dr.Shinas Hussain
