What Does The Following MRI Result Indicate?

I had a pituitary tumor removed a few years ago. In my latest MRI, it states Enhancing mass today measures 8 x 9 x 12 mm compared to 10 x 11 x 12 mm on the prior study. This lesion has homogeneous enhancement, no longer abuts the optic chiasm. Does this mean that the mass has started growing back but isn t as big as it was before?

Welcome to health care magic.

1.The report suggest there is a lesion 8x9x12 pituitary compare to the previous study its very minimal decrease in the number.
2.If the comparison measurements are post operative - then there is no much difference in the measurements.
3.The report also suggest there is no mass effect / pressure effect on the optic chiasm.
4.Generally post operative removal of the lesion - still enhancing lesion suggest regrowth. ( only if complete gland was removed)
5.In this case i would recommend to get a followup scan after 6 months time to tally the measurements.

Good luck.
Hope i have answered your query,
