What Does The Following MRI Report Indicate?

Findings: There are 5 lumbar segments. Vertebral body heights and disc spaces are well maintained. There is no evidence of spondylolysis or spondylolisthesis.

L1-2: Normal

L2-3: Mild diffuse annular bulge. No focal disc herniation or spinal stenosis.

L3-4: Mild diffuse annular bulge. No focal disc herniation or spinal stenosis.

L4-5: Diffuse annular bulge. Mild facet joint degenerative changes. No focal disc herniation or spinal stenosis.

1.The report suggest there are early degenerative disc disease with bulges at different levels mentioned.
2.This is posterior out-pouching of the disc due to loss of hydration causing mild pressure effect on the thecal sac in your case.
3.However there is no herniation or spinal canal stenosis seen at any level.
4.L4-5 shows loss of hydration in the facet joint - mentioned as degenerative changes.
5.Rest all appears normal, in this case if you are experiencing pain or discomfort in the back - the treatment includes exercises followed by physiotherapy. In your case back exercises will be enough.
