What Does The Following ECG Report Mean?

My 8 year old daughter has been complaining of shortness of breath and like she can t take another breath soon enough when it happens. Had an Ecg ad it says ectopic atrial rhythm and marked high lateral repolarization disturbance. What does this mean? Can it be serious. We have an appointment with cardiologist in a week.

Hi,

An ectopic rhythm is an irregular heart rhythm due to a premature heartbeat. Ectopic rhythm is also known as premature atrial contraction, premature ventricular contraction, and extrasystole. When your heart experiences an early beat, a brief pause usually follows.

So reading of ECG machine sometimes may not correct so you have to show this ECG to physician or cardiologist they will include examination findings with ECG.

Please consult your physician, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
