What Does The Ct Scan Regarding The Lung Indicate?

My husband 6 mnths back went for routine test in which a thin walled cavitary lesion was detected in upper lobe of left lungs.he had no health issues or any symptoms.further ct scan also seconded it.ct scan further showed no pleural effusion or mass lesion.bronchoscopy was done where 3/1000 cells acid fast bacilli was shown.bronchial washing showed no cancerous cell.treatment for tb went for 6 mnths though no clinical symptom was there. After 6 mnths also the scar is present with no clinical symptom.was the diagnosis right? R there any chances of it being early stage if lung cancer?he has a family history of cancer patients

Thanls for your question on HCM. Cavitory lesion in upper lobe is most commonly seen in TB. So the diagnosis of TB was right and six month treatment is also enough. Now no need to worry about scar present in CT. As healing occurs by scar tissue and once you have taken AKT, scar remains for life time. To rule out malignancy you need to follow up after 1 year with repeat CT Thorax. If lesion is same in size than no need to worry about malignancy. So I advice you to keep calm, very less chances of malignancy in your case.
