What Does The Biopsy Result Regarding Breast Cancer Indicate?

Hi,my mother in law had breast cancer and done total mastectomy ,now biopsy result has come stating that :Highly cellular aspirate shows cohesive and loose clusters of cells displaying overlapping mildly pleomorphic with high N/C ratio,fine to coarse chromatin,prominent nucleoli seen in some areas and irregular nuclear contours.Background shows singly dispersed similar cells. Would you please tell me which stage and about further treatment also doctor she is diabetic and on insulin.

Hi! Thank you for using HealthcareMagic. Sorry to hear about your mother in law's condition. The report that you have sent seems like the Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) report. Here only the cells are observed and the tissue is not taken. From the report, we can only say that the condition is cancer, but not the stage. For the stage and further treatment options, we need the report of the mastectomy specimen (which is the Histopathology report) which might take little more time to report depending on the centre where it has been sent.
