What Does The MRI Of A 55-year-old Male Indicate?

dear doctor my father is 55 years old.Recently MRI showed grade 1 L3/4 anterolisthesis,L3/4 anterolisthesis with disc bulge causes secondary central canal stenosis.L4-L5 level-canal-APD-11.5mm,L5-S1 level-canal-APD 6.5mm.how can i treatment of this?surgery is needed?pls help me

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, the issues are beyond the scope of Medical treatment and may need surgical intervention as a must as the soft tissue between vertebrae in lower back area are getting squeezed out and swollen or bulged out both towards outside to cause compression on nerves.

But towards inside, though the spinal cord ends at L1-2 but due to any skeletal deformity, it can be lower than that and may cause cord compression.

Meanwhile OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen along with Gabapentin may be helpful.
