What Does Systolic Blood Pressure Of 145 Indicate?

Yes, my systolic blood pressure tends to go up to a high around 145 then drop to the low nineties in a very short span of time. This occurs with no change in physical activity. Why, and is it a source of worry? It should be stated in thee beginning that this site requires a payment for an answer. Thanks, but no thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Thank you for asking on HealthcareMagic.com, providing better healthcare for you. I have gone through your case and I can understand your concern. When making a diagnosis, consider not only the absolute BP reading, but also the presence or absence of other cardiovascular risk factors. Factors include the following:
A. Family history of hypertension
B. Obesity
C. Alcohol consumption
D. Stress
E. Sedentary lifestyle
F. African American ancestry
G. Male gender
H. Age older than 30 years
I. Excessive salt intake
J. Medications
K. Drug use

This drop in your blood pressure may be related to orthostatic hypotension (postural hypotension), a form of low blood pressure that happens when you stand up from sitting or lying down.

To have a normal blood pressure you should know that these factors are modifiable:
-Sedentary lifestyle
-Smoking
-Diet
-Lipid control
-Sodium intake
-Alcohol intake
-Obesity
