What Does Swelling And Pressure In The Arm Indicate?

I just had ACL repaired less than a week ago. They put an iv in my hand and ever since the iv came out my arm feels tight and swollen and wrist hurts like I fractured it some how. There is a huge hard cord or vein running from my hand into my arm. My husband noticed my arm amd hand was yellowish looking like jaundice almost and took 30 minutes or so before I could get it to actually have a pinkish color to it.

hello welcome to healthcaremagic.

there is nothing to be afraid. its just superficial thrombosis of the vein. it gets reaolved it self. there is nothing to wrry.
for symptomatic relief take diclofenac and get sumag dressing done for oedema. try to keep your hand elevated as it will also relieve pain.
if you feel any further discomfort weakness tightness in hand, pls visit nearby emergency asap.
i hope this helps.
please feel free to revert back in case of any dohbts or queries.
thank you.
