What Does Swelling And Pain In Leg After An Injury Indicate?

Over a week ago I slipped an fell on my left foot on cement. That night the pain was taking my breath to walk on it but when I woke up the next morning I could walk on it, it just hurt pretty bad. Now I can still walk on it but it s still swollen and hurts to the touch and this happened over a week ago. Should I see a doctor or is this normal? I would say I sprained it but it isn t my ankle it s the left side/top of my foot.
