General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear;
Normally kidney size ranges between 10-15 cm in length and 7-8cm in width.
As the age progresses the size of kidney satrt reducing as they function less efficiently.
Although there are plenty reasons forr a shrinking kidney but chronic glomerulonephritis is the most common cause which may occur due to various reason.
Diabetes is one of them.
The blood tests ate done to check the functioning of ur kidneys.
If ur blood reports comes normal than u can assume that this change Is age related .
Thanks
Hope I answered ur queries well.
Thanks
