What Does Severe Pain On The Left Side Of The Back Indicate?

I woke to a stabbing pain in my left back in the middle. I am familiar with symptons of kidney stones for my daughter had one. about a month ago my Dr. started treating me for over active bladder with Oxybutynin. It worked my symptons started to go away. But about a week ago my urine turned very dark and I thought I saw blood so I stopped the pills. Then tonight I woke with this pain. I have already thrown up and desided to do research. The pain has lessened but dull continued ache is present. Should I wait for another attach or seek help I am almost positive it is a Kiddney stone
