What Does Severe Pain In The Right Leg Indicate?

i have lots of pain down my right leg, starting from my gluteus maximus. It has been going on now for over two weeks. I believe it is from a prior issue that I had with a ruptured disk. Two weeks ago, I was standing for about 4 hours and I think that is probably what triggered this issue. I believe the same disk is probably bulging against my nerve bundle in my spine and causing the pain.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The type of pain & past history of ruptured disc suggests repeat spinal/disc problem. An X-ray or MRI should help in confirming. Please consult your orthopaedic surgeon for expert advise & treatment (NSAID pills, followed by physiotherapy/surgery in few cases).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale
