What Does Scattered Punctate Foci Of High T2 Signal The Cerebral Hemispheric White Matter Mean?
I am looking at a report from where I had an MRI done in 2014. I am currently 61. I have had 2 seizures, one in around 2001, and another roughly 2007. I take 100mg of Lamotrigine 2X daily. In the report, the ventricles and sulci appear normal for my age. Scattered punctate foci of high T2 signal the cerebral hemispheric white matter which are non specific and may be physiologic. These are slightly more numerous than typical for someone my age and could represent senescent or small vessel ischemic changes if there risk factors for accelerated cerebrovascular disease. (What does that mean?)
