What Does Scarring On The Brain On An MRI Report Suggest?
hi I woud like t know what causes brain scarring on a tbi and could this cause small seizures my husband just had an mri done he was in a motorcycle accident in 2006 and we also found out his shunt is disconnected his mri came back abnormal and they also found loose brain tissue what does all this mean we have not been given a good diagnoses

I suspect the MRI report mentioned gliotic changes in the brain, which is the same are scarring of the brain. This tissue is damaged and is due to progressive changes in the glial cells of the brain.
Brain scarring can cause seizures, but otherwise there is no serious concern. It is important to know the area involved and if there is an increase in the size from previous scans.
