Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a doe and redness around it where my butt cheeks touch. My doctor assumes it s cellulitis and treated me with neglect and mupirocin ointment. It s been 4 days and it seeps lightly on underwear as when I sit down there s pressure in that area. I see no improvement. What else could it be and should I go back to her or see another dr?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of redness around buttocks which is due to abundance of sebaceous glands in these areas and due to hair follicle infection leading to folliculitis.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to maintain complete hygiene of that area. Wash these areas daily with cold water and body wash containing salicylic acid twice a day and apply cream containing azelaic acid which is good for pimples. Take diet rich in multivitamins. You should apply topical antibacterial ointment such as mucopren 2%. If condition doesn't get well in a week then consult dermatologist for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like minocycline, steroid ointment and may recommend chemical peeling for marks.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
