What Does Re-pigmentation At Site Of Surgery After Mole Removal Indicate?

I had a mole removed six months ago, the pathology report said it was mildly atypical with clear margins, however I just noticed there is repigmentation in the center of it. Could this be due to a mistake on the pathologist s end? I am about to leave the country on a trip for six months, it would be very difficult for me postpone it and wouldn t have adequate time if excision was necessary. Can I wait to see if the repigmentation continues to change before seeing a doctor without concern?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

If there is repigmentation, a repeat excision biopsy is required. Consult an Onco surgeon and he will direct you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
