What Does Rashes On The Face, neck And Arms Indicate?
MY MOM DEVELOPED A RASH ON TRUNK/NECK/ARMS AND LITTLE ON TH FACE...NOT SURE WHAT STARTED IT BUT GIVEN KENALOG INJECTION WHICH COMPLETELY TOOK AWAY THE RASH. WAS THEN PRESCRIBED 10 DAYS OF LOW DOSE ( 5 MG ) OF PREDNISONE...RASH STAYED AWAY...FINISHED PREDNISONE ON FRIDAY AND BY SUNDAY RASH HAD RETURNED....COULD THIS BE SCABIES. WAS TESTED BY 2 FOR SCABIES...NEG BOTH TIMES.
scabies can be diagnosed clinically. it is contagious and spread from one patient to other healthy person. it forms scabs with itching and discharge of pus like oozing. in your case you have started steroid in the form of kenacort and now prednisolone. some doctor must have examined and prescribed steroid so ruled out scabies. tapering of steroid is to be done. apply caladryl lotion and get it examined by dermatologist and rule out scabies. treatment of scabies is different
