Hi,I am Dr. Robert Galamaga (Hematologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My VPM blood test result is 11.2. What does this mean and should I worry? I am 54 years old and have had fluctuating High blood pressure for years. I am not on medication right now. Can you please help me understand my blood test result? Also my Sodium level is 146. one point up from normal. Thank you Evelin
Hello and welcome to HCM, I guess the parameter mentioned by you is not VPM but it is MPV. MPV stands for man platelet volume and its range in between 6-10 fl. The normal range varies between different communities. MPV is a measure of volume of platelets. Value of 11.2 is near normal value ,however, it can be interpreted better if platelet count and PLT are also known.
