What Does 'pulmonary Tuberculosis, Post Treatment Changes' Mean?

Hi
I saw a medical report stated 'The previously noted right pleural thickening and fibrotic changes in right lung remain unchanged. No active lesion in the right lung seen.' and 'Impression: Pulmonary tuberculosis, post treatment changes'. If the Laboratory report for Bacteriology indicated 'AFB C&S : No growth of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis'
What does the report means? Any possibility of the sickness to relapse? If the patient follow the instruction to take his medication, how frequent does he need to do the X-ray (or blood test) to ensure the clearance of bacterial?

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
These things mean that you have no active lesion seen in xray of lung & your lungs are giving a good response to treatment (post treatment changes).
As per your labortory report in Acid-Fast Bacilli Smear and Culture(AFB C&S) there was no growth of tuberculosis bacteria.

So you should not worry about these reports, you are getting cured of tuberculosis. Normally it takes 6-9 months treatment to get fully cured of tuberculosis.

Refer to your doctor

Don't worry you would be fine
Hope this information helps
