Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.

Pneumonia is an infection that even though most of the times you improve clinically in 1-2 weeks the changes the infection caused in your lungs take up to 6 weeks to totally heal and this is normal and is nothing wrong with you.

I would say that if you are improving, feeling better and the symptoms do not recur you should not worry.
The chest x-ray is not expected to be normal soon after treatment and we do not need to repeat it again unless you are having symptoms. The antibiotics help clear the infection but the damages the infection caused need longer time to heal.
So I would say:
1. do not worry of the chest x-ray result as long as you are clinically improving
2. Make sure you keep your self hydrated and rest as much as you can- your body needs rest to recover quickly
3. Make sure you eat frequent small amounts during the day- getting some calories help but even if you do not have much appetite eating frequent small amounts help
4. If you start to have fever, cough, chest pain, phlegm or any concenrns you will need to speak with your doctor.
5. Cough and tiredness might last of up to 6 weeks also so it is normal to have them but they should be getting better and not worse

Hope this answers to your question and is helpful to you
