What Does Pressure Behind The Left Shoulder Indicate?

About 7 days ago I started having presure in my left shoulder & at the inside bend of my elbow, same arm.. I thought ok, clogged artery but the a few days later tiny clusters of red blisters popped up on my left hand, wrist & forearm... A friend of my partner who is a nurse said it sounded like Shingles!!! I couldn t really remember if I had chicken pox as a child & the symptoms got worse: body sweats, fever, extreme headache & body aches... After speaking with my mom & dad who assured me I never had chicken pox & that Shingles usually sets on in older people than I, I m only 47... I know the only way to know for sure is when I go to see a DR tomorrow but do I have Adult Chicken Pox??? Or what else could it be???

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I don't think this is chicken pox, because blisters are generally spread all over the body, and are acompained by itching, also it rarely occurs in adults.
Your parents might not remember exactly, because occasionally chicken pox in childhood can also be mild or asymptomatic, although this clinical presentation isn't common.
You have body sweats, fever, headache, body aches, red blisters only in left hand , wrist and forearm, these symptoms are more typical for Shingles (herpes zoster infection).
However you should consult your doctor for a exact diagnosis after physical examination.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
