What Does Presence Of Dried Blood Near The Nose After Head Injury Suggest?

My daughter pulled the shower curtain rod down onto her head approximately an hour ago. She came to me crying, but calmed down quickly and fell asleep. She had not had a nap yet, so I didn t worry. However, she just rolled over and there is a bit of dried blood around her nose. She has had a cold, which included coughing and congestion. Should I be concerned.

Hello,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
As you saw dried blood near nose of the kid, it can be due to 2 causes.
Either its from cough and congestion or it could be due to head injury. Other cause could be just epistaxis or nose picking which are not be worried about of right now.
I would like to advice you that observe her for another 24hrs.
If she shows any more bleeding through nose or other symtpoms like headache, nausea, vomiting or seizures kindly get her to a doctor to get a CT /MRI of brain to look for any cause of bleeding.
If her cough has increased and she is coughing out blood then she mightbe having pneumonia and needs treatment.
