What Does Presence Of Blood Clots In Phlegm Indicate?

this morning while brushing my teeth & spitting out water as usual, I noticed there were some pink color in my spit. Then to verify, I was clearing my throat and spit again, that s when I noticed 2 small spots/clumps of blood. I am not sick or anything. I didn t have any throat injuries. I didn t have a sore throat. The weather is warmer than usual so I try to stay hydrated & stay indoors & using a fan. Everything seemed normal. I ignored it and went on my day. A few hours later, as I drank some plain water, I noticed a salty taste in my throat. Is this something I should be concerned about or need to see a doctor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to health care magic...

You have no major complaint apart from blood in spit...
So you might have simply some form of dental infection and bleeding could be from gum....
Maintain oral hygiene and use soft brush for cleaning teeth...
Vigorous brushing sometime can lead bleed....

Still it is better to consult nearby doctor for auscultation and physical examination...
If needed and suspected than chest x ray done for rule out bronchitis like condition....
Than if pyorrhea like dental condition present doctor will sent you to dentist for further work up...

Take care

Hope this will help
