What Does Pain On The Right Thigh Indicate?

In the last few days I have been experiencing very dull persistent ache & pain in my right thigh, front. I ve never felt this type of discomfort before and I have really good pain tolerance. It s so uncomfortable I almost can t stand it and I m the type of person that most times doesn t take aspiring for a headache. I have found myself taking 800mg ibuprofen to ease the discomfort. I m also experiencing a little of the same in my right shin but it s not that bad. The thigh is very uncomfortable.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thanks you for your query in HCM.

Complaints of pain in your thighs can be caused by muscle, blood vessel, and nerve disorders. Is there a history of falling? What are your daily activities? Do you exercise diligently? Since when has the complaint been felt? Are there other symptoms such as swelling, tenderness, numbness / tingling, and so on? Does the pain appear continuous or disappear?

If you're still young, your pain in your thighs can be caused by a number of possibilities such as injuries during activity, muscle problems (rarely exercise, sitting or standing too long causing muscle spasms), or other medical problems.

To ensure the diagnosis requires more information and physical examination. You can visit the doctor for further examination. For a while do not do activities that are too heavy that trigger pain and compress your leg with warm bath or apply warm balm.

Thank you.
