What Does Pain In The Throat, Jaws And Ears Indicate?

Since July 13 my head, throat, jaw and ears have hurt. I went to Urgent care on July 16 and had a strep test done and it is negative. Suggestion was that it was viral while I did have a little fluid in the ear and have had a few good days since and am now to a point I am miserable. This started right after two very hot days in my home due to a furnace and AC that went out and then the morning of the third day I woke up with this when the temperature had dropped dramatically.

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pain in the throat, jaws and ears which seems to be due infection which is travelling ear through eustachian tube and leading to dysfunction.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to

- Avoid intake of cold carbonated beverages and do warm saline gargles.

- Apply warm compresses on ear.

- Take proper course of antibiotics along with antiinflammatory medications.

- Avoid inserting sharp object in ear.

- Maintain oral hygiene and avoid intake of sharp spicy food.

Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. You can go for blood and sputum tests as well and start treatment accordingly.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
