What Does Pain In The Thighs Indicate?

I have had I have had a slight discomfort in my upper inner thigh for about 3 months. About 3 weeks ago, I made a turn in a chair without moving my lower body. The pain in that are was a shooting pain. I had a difficult time walking. A few days later, it was manageable but is not improving. I am wearing “tights”to give more support but it is still not improving. I didn’t know if it is possibly a groin pull or possibly something more serious.
