What Does Pain In The Lower Back And Calf Muscles Indicate?
hi a friend called with lower back pain that travels down his leg to the calf muscle. he doesn t use the word spasm-- but he is not sure whether it is strained muscle or nervous system... just trying to ask intelligent questions to help him cure his aliment.

This type of radiating pain is suggestive of nerve compression at spinal level. For that do X-ray lumbar spine and consult orthopedic with x-ray photo.
Till that ask your friend not to do exercise, running, weight lifting. Ask him to sleep in hard bed.
