What Does Pain In The Armpit Indicate?

I have had pain in my left scapula going under my arm pit and down my arm for 4 weeks. I can not sit or stand with out severe pain. I have been going to daily appointments- dry needling has helped the most, massage which is wonderful while being done but as soon as I stand the pain is back, chiropractic care, acupuncture which has done nothings, and Physical Therapy. I had a MRI which says c5-c6 MOderate sized broad based posterior disc osteophyte complex. Moderate right neural foraminal stenosis. C-6-C7: Small left foraminal zpne disc protrusion with mild/moderate left neural formainal narrowing, C-5-C-6: Disc desiccation with moderate loss of disc height. Moderate sized based posterior disc osteophyte complex. Effacement of the thecal sac and cord. Facet and uncovertebral joint disease withour facet edema. Mild left and moderate right neural foraminal stenosis. What does this mean. I am exhausted trying to manage the pain.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

After going through your history, I could conclude because of the anomaly in your spinal cord your nerves which are supplying your left side of the arm is getting compressed thus you are facing the pain in that area.

The ultimate treatment for it is the surgery, but at the same time, it will depend on many other factors like your age, weight, random blood sugar level, or any underlying disease of yours. But in the present situation, the only physiotherapy in the form needling will be helpful for you along with the SOS anti analgesics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Medhavi Agarwal
