What Does Pain Below The Navel Indicate?

Had a liver biopsy with a needle done 2 days ago. Had slight pain around the area before i left the hospital, they gave me ibprofen, felt fine. Then since yesterday ive been having low abdominal discomfort and bloating, its not constant. I can compare it to indegestion. I also started my period yesterday which could explain the bloating but the pain im feeling is not the usual cramping. There is no pain around the biopsy area, just below the belly button for the most part (No nausea, vomiting, or change in bowels) Should i be concerned?

Hello and welcome to Ask a doctor service.

I have read through your question and here is my opinion.

The pain you are experiencing does not seem to be caused by the liver biopsy. You have not mentioned why you had a liver biopsy done. You have mentioned that you have started your periods yesterday and it seems to be the most likely cause. Though if the pain does not subside in a day or two you should definitely consult your physician. Meanwhile you can take an over the counter painkiller like Tab Ibuprofen to relieve the pain.

Hope I have answered your query.
