What Does Pain Around The Liver Area Indicate?

My Med Dr. is concerned about my Blood Profile test...high...I have never smoked, drank alcohol in my life and I am 84 years old... I have occasional slite pain in the liver area, but subsides...do you think Glutathione would help in my Blood Profile results.

hi sir/madam,
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.

Possible causes and associated conditions include:-
hepatitis.
non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
cirrhosis.
Reye syndrome.
hemochromatosis.
liver cancer.

Once your liver condition has been diagnosed, you will probably be prescribed drugs to manage the condition and lessen your pain. Hepatitis B anti-viral drugs exist for treating chronic disease, such as lamivudine (Epivir) and adefovir (Hepsera).
Other lifestyle changes, such as losing weight and lowering your cholesterol, are other first lines of defense when it comes to treating the cause of liver pain. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is managed almost exclusively by modifying your diet and exercise routine.

If you experience liver pain in the morning after a heavy meal or a night of drinking alcohol, drink plenty of water. Try to avoid fatty or heavy foods for a few days, and sit up straight to take pressure off the liver. If the pain persists for more than several hours, you should set up an appointment with your doctor. If you’re experiencing nausea, dizziness, or hallucinations in conjunction with liver pain, you may need emergency care.

Consult your GP for further treatments.
